Is telehealth therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is equally effective as in-person therapy for most conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and grief. Some patients actually find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space.

What types of therapy are available via telehealth?

Our telehealth therapists offer CBT, DBT-informed therapy, EMDR, IFS, and ERP. Individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy are all available via secure video.

Do you accept insurance for telehealth therapy?

Kaylee Mills Brenneman is in-network with Medicare and UnitedHealthcare for telehealth visits. Most other therapists are fee-for-service at $175 per session, with superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement. Supervised intern sessions are available at $75.

Can I switch between telehealth and in-person sessions?

Yes. Many patients use a hybrid model - some sessions in-person at our Wesley Chapel, Tampa, or Lakeland offices, and others via telehealth when it's more convenient. You can switch between formats with the same therapist.

Book online or call. Schedule your intake session. We will send you forms to complete before your appointment so your first session can focus on what matters.
Intake session. A thorough first session to understand your situation, history, and goals. No rushing, no judgment.
Treatment plan. Together, you will create a plan that fits your life and addresses your specific concerns.
Ongoing sessions. Weekly or biweekly sessions via secure video. Coordinated with Ascend's psychiatry team when medication management is part of the plan.
