Skyler Anderson works at the intersection of trauma, chronic illness, and mental health - a space where many therapists lack the training or experience to be truly effective. As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI), Skyler brings fresh clinical training alongside a genuine depth of understanding about what it means to carry both physical and psychological pain at the same time.
Skyler's approach to trauma therapy is grounded in the recognition that healing is not linear and cannot be rushed. Whether a client is working through a single traumatic event, processing complex PTSD from years of adverse experiences, or trying to understand how a chronic illness diagnosis has reshaped their entire sense of self, Skyler provides a steady, consistent presence.
Available at all three Ascend locations - Wesley Chapel, Lakeland, and Tampa - as well as via telehealth, Skyler is one of the most accessible therapists on the team. That flexibility matters, because many trauma survivors struggle to maintain consistent care when logistics get in the way.
Skyler works closely with Ascend's supervising clinicians and coordinates with the psychiatry team when medication management might complement therapy. That integrated approach is especially important for clients dealing with PTSD-related sleep disruption, anxiety, or depression that benefits from both talk therapy and medical support.
