Naples psychiatrist serving Collier and Lee counties via HIPAA-secure Florida telehealth: same-week appointments with Anna Stouffer, PMHNP-BC. Online psychiatry for Naples residents

Telehealth psychiatry is not a compromise. The American Psychiatric Association has stated outright that for medication management (the daily work of most outpatient psychiatry), telehealth is comparable to in-person care. What changes is the access curve: you skip the four-month wait, the boutique cash-only model that dominates Naples private practice, and the rotating-providers carousel. You get the same clinician for the same length of appointment, from your own home.

Ascend's nearest physical psychiatry office is at our Wesley Chapel location, about 2.5 hours north on I-75. Most Naples patients do not make that drive: video psychiatric visits work for the same range of conditions we treat in person, and the prescription goes to your local pharmacy through electronic prescribing. The only exceptions are situations where in-person observation is clinically indicated; Anna will tell you upfront if your case is one of them.

We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform with a Business Associate Agreement in place. You will receive a secure link by email or text before your appointment. Stable prescriptions are renewed without an additional visit; medication adjustments happen at scheduled follow-ups.

Areas we serve in Naples: Downtown Naples, Old Naples (34102), Park Shore (34103), Pelican Bay (34108), Vanderbilt Beach (34108), Marco Island-adjacent (34145), North Naples (34109, 34110), East Naples (34112, 34113, 34114), and the surrounding Collier and Lee County. If you are a Florida resident, your psychiatric provider can see you. The license attaches to the state, not the city.

Conditions we treat

Anna Stouffer treats the full range of adult outpatient psychiatric presentations:

  • Depression: major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, postpartum depression
  • Anxiety: generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety
  • ADHD: adult diagnosis, medication initiation, ongoing management (subject to current DEA telehealth-prescribing rules for stimulants)
  • Bipolar disorder: Bipolar I, Bipolar II, mood stabilization
  • PTSD: medication management as part of a broader trauma treatment plan
  • OCD: medication adjuncts to ERP-based therapy

What Anna does not treat: active substance use disorders requiring detox or MAT-only care, active psychosis, eating disorders requiring higher levels of care, or patients under 18. If your situation falls into one of these categories, we will help direct you to the right level of care.

Our provider

Anna Stouffer, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in Florida. PMHNP-BC means she completed a master's-level psychiatric nursing program plus the national board certification, with full prescriptive authority in Florida. She is the sole psychiatric prescriber on the Ascend team. Naples telehealth patients see Anna directly, not a rotating panel. Same provider for the initial, same provider for every follow-up, same provider when you need a medication adjustment six months in. Reviewed by [NEEDED: reviewer-of-record name], Medical Director.

What to expect at your first appointment

Before the visit. Complete intake forms online. Pull together a list of any current medications (including over-the-counter), past psychiatric medications you have tried, and any prior diagnoses. You will get a secure video link by email and text the day of your appointment.

During your initial evaluation (60 minutes). Anna walks through your current symptoms, medical history, family psychiatric history, prior treatment, and your goals. She will discuss diagnostic impressions in plain language and outline a treatment plan. If a medication is started, the prescription goes to your local Naples pharmacy via ePrescribe before you log off.

Follow-up visits (30 minutes). The first follow-up is typically 4-6 weeks after the initial. We check how the medication is working, side effects, and whether to adjust. Once stable, follow-ups move to every 1-3 months depending on the medication and how you are doing.

Insurance & pricing

In-network options

  • Most major commercial plans plus Medicare. Specific in-network status varies by plan: call (813) 670-3005 with your insurance card and we will verify benefits before your appointment.
  • Out-of-network patients receive superbills with diagnosis and CPT codes for direct submission

Self-pay rates

  • Initial psychiatric evaluation (60 min): $260
  • Follow-up medication management (30 min): $160

Most PPO plans reimburse 50-80 percent for out-of-network psychiatric services. The $160 follow-up rate is competitive against Southwest Florida's market: Naples cash-pay psychiatry typically runs $300-$500 per follow-up, often with no insurance billing at all.
