Our commitment to making healthcare information available to everyone.
Our Commitment
Ascend Mind and Body is committed to ensuring that our website, ascendmb.com, is accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to information about their healthcare options, and we work to remove barriers that might prevent anyone from using our site.
Conformance Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.
Conformance Status
Partially conformant. We are actively working toward full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across all pages of our website. "Partially conformant" means that some portions of our content do not yet fully conform to the standard.
Measures We Have Taken
To improve accessibility, we have implemented the following measures:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy on all pages.
- Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images.
- Sufficient color contrast ratios for text and interactive elements.
- Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive components.
- ARIA labels on icons, buttons, and navigation landmarks.
- Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes.
- Skip-to-content navigation for screen reader users.
- Avoidance of content that flashes more than three times per second.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may have accessibility limitations:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these and can provide accessible alternatives on request.
- Embedded third-party content (such as map widgets or scheduling tools) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with vendors to improve their accessibility and provide alternative ways to access the same information.
- Some form elements provided by third-party vendors may have limited accessibility support. If you have difficulty using any form, please call us directly.
Third-Party Content
Our website may include content from third-party providers, including embedded maps, scheduling widgets, and patient portal links. While we encourage our vendors to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content. If you encounter accessibility issues with third-party content on our site, please let us know and we will provide an alternative way to access the information you need.
Accessibility Overlays
We do not use automated accessibility overlay tools or widgets. Research and accessibility experts have consistently found that overlays do not reliably fix accessibility issues and can sometimes make the experience worse for users of assistive technology. We invest in building accessibility into our site's code and design instead.

Assessment and Review
Date of last accessibility review: April 2026
We assess the accessibility of our website through a combination of manual testing (keyboard navigation, screen reader testing) and automated scanning tools. We review and update our accessibility practices regularly and whenever we publish new content or make significant changes to the site.
