Quick answer
There isn't one right TRT clinic for every man in Florida, so compare the same few things everywhere: how low testosterone is confirmed before treatment, how labs and follow-up visits are handled, whether the clinic bills insurance, and exactly what a monthly fee covers. Most cash-pay clinics in this guide say they don't bill insurance. Ascend Mind and Body and several urology and academic practices accept insurance, and Ascend adds primary care and mental health in the same practice.
How to compare TRT clinics in Florida
Testosterone clinics in Florida range from franchise storefronts with same-visit testing to online services, concierge practices, urology groups and primary care practices. They can look alike from the outside. The differences show up in how they diagnose, how they follow you once treatment starts, and how you pay.

These are the questions worth asking every clinic, in roughly the order they matter:
- How is low testosterone confirmed? The American Urological Association calls for two total testosterone measurements, both in the early morning on separate occasions, along with symptoms.
- What else is checked first? Guidelines also call for a baseline blood count (hematocrit) and age-appropriate prostate screening, and other causes of fatigue or low drive, such as thyroid problems or poor sleep, are worth ruling out.
- Is the medication FDA-approved or compounded? FDA-approved testosterone comes as injections, gels and solutions, a nasal gel, oral capsules and pellets. Compounded versions are not FDA-approved.
- How are labs drawn? In the clinic, at a Quest or Labcorp center, or with an at-home kit. Ask how the clinic confirms results before treatment.
- What's the follow-up schedule? Ask for the written plan for repeat testosterone, hematocrit, blood pressure and prostate checks.
- What does the price cover? Visits, labs, medication, supplies and shipping can each be included or billed separately.
- Is there a commitment? Ask about prepaid months, annual billing, automatic renewals and any balance due if you cancel.
- Do they bill insurance? If they don't, ask whether they give you paperwork you can submit yourself.
- What if you want children? Testosterone can lower sperm production, so a fertility conversation belongs before treatment, not after.
How TRT clinics structure what you pay
Searching a clinic's name plus "cost" rarely gives you a number you can compare, because clinics package care differently. Most fit one of five patterns:

- One monthly program. A single monthly fee that the clinic says covers visits, labs and medication. Read exactly what's listed, and ask about the first visit and first labs.
- Membership plus medication. A monthly membership for visits or testing, with medication priced separately. The membership alone isn't the whole cost.
- Prepaid or annual plans. A lower monthly figure in exchange for paying for several months, or a year, at once. Ask about refunds and what happens if treatment isn't right for you.
- Pay per service. No membership; you pay for each consult, lab panel and prescription. Your total depends on how often you're seen and tested.
- Insurance. Visits and labs billed to your plan, with copays, deductibles and pharmacy coverage that depend on your policy.
Whichever model a clinic uses, ask for an itemized written quote that answers these questions:
- Is there a fee for the first visit, and are the first labs included?
- Are follow-up visits and monitoring labs included, and how often do they happen?
- Is the medication included, and is it an FDA-approved product or a compounded one?
- Are injection supplies and shipping included?
- Are any add-on medications part of the plan, and are they optional?
- Is there a minimum commitment, automatic renewal or cancellation balance?

Ascend Mind and Body: men's health inside a full medical practice
Ascend Mind and Body is a Florida medical practice where primary care and mental health work under one roof. - In-person visits at the Tampa (Carrollwood) office, 3971 Moran Rd, Suite 101, Tampa 33618, and the Wesley Chapel office, 27724 Cashford Circle, Suite 102, Wesley Chapel 33544. Every visit, the first evaluation included, can also be by Florida telehealth, with labs drawn at a local lab near you anywhere in Florida.

- Monitoring
- Testosterone and hematocrit rechecked at three months, at six months, then every six to twelve months, with dose or route adjusted based on labs and how you feel.
- Insurance
- Insurance is accepted. Current in-network plans for TRT care include Aetna, ChampVA, TRICARE East and UnitedHealthcare, and benefits are verified before any prescription decision.
- Also under one roof
- Primary care, psychiatry, talk therapy and medical weight loss, so related concerns don't need a separate referral.

Safety monitoring, fertility and medication status
Testosterone therapy needs ongoing monitoring. Guidelines call for checking testosterone and red blood cell levels (hematocrit) after starting and at regular intervals, along with blood pressure and prostate monitoring where appropriate. Testosterone can lower sperm production and fertility, so tell your clinician if you may want children.

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance under federal and Florida law. It's prescribed only after a medical evaluation, and guidelines call for lab tests that confirm low levels before starting.
In February 2025 the FDA announced class-wide labeling changes for testosterone products. The changes add results from the TRAVERSE trial, which found testosterone was not inferior to placebo for major heart events in men with or at high risk of heart disease, though atrial fibrillation, acute kidney injury and pulmonary embolism were more common in the testosterone group. The FDA also required warnings about increased blood pressure.
Here's the FDA status of the medications named in this guide:
- FDA-approved testosterone: injections (cypionate, enanthate and undecanoate), topical gels and solutions, a nasal gel, oral undecanoate capsules and testosterone pellets.
- Compounded testosterone (custom creams, troches, injections or pellets): not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs before they're marketed.
- Clomiphene: FDA-approved for ovulation problems in women; use in men is off-label.
- Enclomiphene: not FDA-approved in any form.
- hCG: branded products are FDA-approved, including for some men with low testosterone; compounded hCG is not.
- Aromatase inhibitors such as anastrozole: use in men is off-label.
Frequently asked questions
How much does TRT cost in Florida?
It depends on how the clinic charges and what's included. Some charge one monthly fee that covers visits, labs and medication. Others charge a membership plus medication, bill each visit and lab separately, or bill your insurance. Compare written, itemized quotes rather than headline numbers, and check whether labs, follow-up visits, supplies and shipping are included.
Does insurance cover TRT in Florida?
Many plans cover testosterone therapy when low testosterone is documented the way the plan requires, which usually means symptoms plus low results on more than one morning blood test. Most cash-pay men's clinics in this guide say they don't bill insurance, while Ascend Mind and Body and several urology and academic practices accept insurance. Check your plan's rules for labs and medication before you start.
Is TRT legal in Florida?
Yes, with a prescription. Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance under federal and Florida law. It's prescribed only after a medical evaluation, and guidelines call for lab tests that confirm low levels before starting.
Can I get testosterone through telehealth in Florida?
Florida law allows telehealth care for patients located in Florida when it meets the same standard of care as an in-person visit. Federal rules for prescribing controlled substances also apply, and each clinic sets its own process, so ask whether you'll need an in-person visit or in-person labs.
Do I need two blood tests before starting TRT?
Guidelines say yes. The American Urological Association calls for two total testosterone measurements, both taken in the early morning on separate occasions, along with symptoms, before diagnosing low testosterone.
Can an at-home test kit diagnose low testosterone?
Guidelines base the diagnosis on early-morning total testosterone measured on two separate days, together with symptoms. If a service uses an at-home collection kit, ask how it confirms the result before treatment starts.
Will TRT affect my fertility?
It can. Testosterone therapy can lower sperm production and fertility, so tell your clinician if you may want children. Ask what options exist if fertility matters to you.
How often are labs checked on TRT?
Guidelines call for checking testosterone and red blood cell levels (hematocrit) after starting and at regular intervals, along with blood pressure and prostate monitoring where appropriate. Ask any clinic for its written schedule.
Is enclomiphene the same as testosterone?
No. Enclomiphene is a different drug, and it isn't FDA-approved in any form. If a clinic offers it, ask what exactly you'd be taking, where it's made and why it's being suggested.
What should a monthly TRT fee include?
Ask whether it covers follow-up visits, monitoring labs, medication, injection supplies, shipping and any add-on medications, and whether there's a minimum commitment or a balance due if you cancel. Get the answers in writing.
Should I see a men's health clinic or a primary care practice for TRT?
Either can work. A men's health clinic usually focuses on hormones, sexual health and weight. A primary care practice looks at the whole picture, such as thyroid, sleep, blood pressure and mood, and can manage TRT within that care. Some men prefer one practice for everything.
How we put this guide together
We included clinics and online services that publish testosterone therapy for men in Florida, either with a Florida office or with Florida telehealth stated on their own website, as of October 22 and 23, 2026. We also answered questions about national brands that Florida men ask about, and about well-known brands that have no Florida clinic.
Every clinic fact comes from that clinic's own website on those dates unless it's marked otherwise. Clinics are listed alphabetically within each section, and no clinic paid to be included. This isn't a complete list, and clinics change their services and policies, so confirm details directly before you decide. If you spot something out of date, contact us and we'll review it.
